The same air that comes from Sub-Saharan Africa is the same air that the Texas cowboy breathes. It crosses the Atlantic Ocean, goes through the Gulf of Mexico, and up through Texas.
God breathed life into Adam and formed him from dust.
The same weather system that pushes through all of America, wetting the landscape, is the same system that will fill the lands in England and Europe.
God lets it rain on the righteous and unrighteous. But one day, he will stop the rain on the unfaithful when Jesus returns.
God gives us air to breathe, and it is free. But our actions with this freedom have cost us our lives. Sin came into the world, bringing violence, greed, slavery, sexual immorality, and the list can go on and on because humans find new ways to hurt each other all the time. We all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.
Jesus bought us at a price so that we can be free again. God intended for us to be free. He reconciled us back to him, through Jesus Christ, God in the flesh. He came to die on the cross as the last and better sacrifice for all of humanity.
God has given each of us the free gift to breathe. He created our lungs. He created the air we breathe. It is not something that we ask for or think about. We don’t buy air, we don’t buy lungs, we don’t ask for breath; it just happens. There is another free gift, but this one comes with a choice. The free gift of salvation is by believing in Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord of your life.
In a world full of having to buy everything, why would you turn away from something that is free for eternity? In the moment, it may feel like it will cost you friends, family, or your old ways of life, but eventually, when you align yourself with God’s will, your life will flow with the rivers of living water, that is, Jesus Christ.
