She is called “The Glowing Madonna” because if you don’t know Madonna in Italian is for the Virgin Mary or “my lady.”This art piece was created in 2022 around the beginning of my journey of surrendering my full life to Christ. For some months in 2022, my chronic illness got so bad that I could barely eat anything. So, it became a type of fasting and praying to God. While that was going on, I was watching a TV show that told the story of Florence, Italy, during the Renaissance through the drama of the corrupt Medici family. It touched on the artists of the time and how some painted for the church. I had liked and admired their work growing up but this time I was inspired by their dedication to God. That is when I started painting again with full dedication of my art to God. Things just started flowing. Art piece after art piece came out of me even in my chronic illness state. God had me right where he wanted me to be. When I created this art piece, there was something about her that I recognized, but I couldn’t put my finger on it. Then, a couple of months ago, it clicked when I rewatched the movie “Ever After,” another Renaissance period movie with the character DaVinci. He paints a portrait of Cinderella. That painting was what reminded me of the familiarity I saw in my painting. To add I can relate to the Cinderella story and not in a good way. But there is a happy ending because the crown she is wearing I feel God is showing the church we are set free and no one can take our crown.
James 1:12 Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.
Please comment and like. I enjoy discussing artistic expression and how people interpret it. It is wonderful to hear how others see artwork. It brings a deeper understanding of the art and the person explaining their point of view. God Bless💕✨️🙏
